my interests lie at the interface between mathematical and life sciences. i try to formulate interesting questions in areas of biology, medical and social sciences and linguistics, in the language of mathematics. then i try to find answers to these questions by developing applied math techniques. the main unifying topic is evolution. the general areas of application are:
